No one wants to lay down on an operating table questioning the skills, knowledge, or experience of their surgeon. They want to be comforted by the knowledge that the surgeon who is working on them is one of the best in the industry and that they will not make mistakes when your life is in their hands.

Dr. Susan Lim is a very skilled surgeon based out of Singapore. She operates mainly out of two of Singapore’s premier hospitals, Gleneagles and Mount Elizabeth. Dr. Susan Lim has a good reputation in Singapore and, more broadly, in Asia. This is because Dr. Susan Lim was the first surgeon, male or female, to successfully perform a liver transplant on the Asian continent, in 1990.

Dr. Susan Lim was raised in Singapore—she attended the Singapore Chinese Girls’ School and then the Raffles Institution. Dr. Susan Lim, then just Susan Lim, also received a scholarship in 1974 under the Colombo Plan. Dr. Lim used that scholarship to study medicine in Australia at Monash University. In 2003 she founded a company called Stem Cell Technologies that specialized in bio-technologies and in 2004 she joined Trinity College at the University of Melbourne in Australia as a Fellow. Dr. Suan Lim is now a member of the Global Advisory Council of the International Society of Stem Cell Research 2011.
